Auspicious Symbol Chest Pair
A beautiful Tibetan Chest a PAIR with one Chest featuring the Auspicious Symbols of Victory Banner and the Two Fish on the bowl, the background being a yellow one rarely found this color furniture in Tibet. There are beautifully painted Blossoming Flowers and Foliage. Metallic floral hinges at found on the corners of this chest. These chests were commissioned in Tibet by the rich noble and feudal lords as an offering to their patron Monasteries and also for their own home shrine room where used as storage for ritual and valuable objects.
The other Chest has the Holy Umbrella and the Chakra or the Dharma Wheel. These Auspicious symbols were offered to Prince Siddhartha Gautam when he attained Enlightenment and became The Syakyamuni Buddha many centuries ago.
